Terrain Vague

Mysterious crop circles in DetroitAfter a 17 year hiatus, Tom will return to the motor city in a few weekends to check in on the status of the city, its cultural institutions, the old Tiger Stadium, the new Tiger Stadium, the recent cinematic renaissance, the auto bailout and great Lebanese food, among other things. The Functionality is keen to get to the bottom of one mystery in particular: who is making the crop circles in the derelict lots around downtown? Has the city opened a vacant lot horticulture management department? Is urban farming on the horizon? At the risk of sounding crass, we must say that we’re intrigued by the possibilities.
